Nyah District Primary School is located in the township of Nyah West, approximately 28 kilometres north of Swan Hill. The school draws students from the surrounding areas including, Nyah, Nyah West, Wood Wood and Vinifera. The school is committed towards meeting the needs of a small community with a diverse student background. Partnerships between students, staff, parents and the wider community are encouraged. Community organisations and businesses generously support the school.

We aim to provide excellent teaching and learning programs which cover all areas of the curriculum, with a particular focus on literacy and numeracy. Students have access to a broad curriculum including science, music and the arts. Information and Communication Technology (ICT) is incorporated in classroom programs throughout the school. The school is an accredited "Go For Your Life" school and promotes an active healthy lifestyle. Programs to support students' social and emotional development include a buddy program and Program Achieve (You Can Do It.) Students have the opportunity to participate in a range of school camps and excursions.

In 2010 the school is structured around three classes catering for students in Prep to grade 2, grades 3 and 4, and grades 5 and 6.
